Abstract

|
A transfer coping is a thin, shell - like covering or cap fabricated over a die a full crown prepration. The coping, which has small strus or lugs on the lingual and facial surface and a small window near the occlusal surface or incisal edge, serves two important functions when placed on a prepared tooth, the coping enables the dental officer to ascertain the accuracy of the die and thus foretell the accuaracy of the: future cast attachment. The coping provides the only positive, accurate method of seating on individual die in an impression to prepare a cast.
